Background

Dr. Ghiaasiaan began at Tech in 1991 as an Associate Professor. Prior, he was Senior Staff Scientist at Science Applications International Corporation.

Research

Dr. Ghiaasiaan has performed research on a variety of issues in thermal/fluid science. Prior to joining Georgia Tech, his research was primarily in the areas of nuclear reactor thermal-hydraulics and safety, energy systems, multiphase flow and heat transfer, computational modeling and simulation, and aerosol and particle transport.

At Georgia Tech, in addition to the aforementioned subjects, he has conducted research on flow and heat transfer in microsystems, gas-fibrous slurry three-phase flows, theoretical and computational modeling of multiphase flow processes, and cryogenics and cryocoolers.  The cryogenics related research is carried out at Georgia Tech Cryo Lab (http://gtcryolab.gatech.edu/).
